What is camp?

Camp is a five day/four night adventure where your students will be engaged in fun activities, team competitions, and most importantly time with God. Camp is different from most other summer experiences, in that it is a break away from all of our regular distractions, with a complete focus on building relationships with others, and drawing closer to God. It will be one of the best weeks of the year! Check out the video below to see more!

Most Asked Camp Questions

1.    When do we bring our children to the church and when do we pick them up?

A)  Teen Camp: We will meet at the church; Berean Youth entrance (south side entrance) opens at 12:30 p.m. There will be no lunch provided, so please feed your student before checking in. We will separate the luggage boys/girls and begin loading when instructed. We will leave at 1:30 PM sharp. A parent/guardian is required to physically check their student in until the last lice check is completed. Students will return to the church by 10:30 AM on Friday, June 20th.

A)  Kid's Camp: We will meet at the church; north doors open at 12:45 p.m. and Camper/Parent orientation will be at 1:15 PM in the North Chapel. We will leave at 1:30 PM sharp. The children will return to the church by 10:30 AM on Friday, July 21st. A parent/guardian is required to physically check their child in and attend the orientation meeting.

2.    Are the children checked for head lice?

A)  Teen Camp: It is required that all students are pre-checked twice before coming to camp. We will have a nurse check all the students going to camp on the Wednesday, June 14th or Wednesday, June 21st and again on Monday, June 26th. These safety checks are not an option. Please note these dates and make sure your child has both checks completed.

A)  Kid's Camp: It is required that all children are pre-checked twice before coming to camp. We will have a nurse check all the children going to camp on the Sunday, July 9, and again on Sunday, July 16, or on Monday morning, July 17. These safety checks are not an option. Please note these dates and make sure your child has both checks completed.

3.    What can I do as parent to make things faster and simpler for my child on drop off day?

A)  Teen Camp: Bring your students to check in with a positive attitude knowing that they are going to have an AMAZING week at camp!

A)  Kid's Camp: First time campers and their mommas may have some anxiety on Monday. To reduce the stress, we are allowing children to receive their lice checks and drop off their luggage on Sunday, July 16. In the past we have seen that this helps both parent and child.

4.    When is my balance for camp and guardian authorization form due?

A)  Teen Camp: All balances will be due online on Monday, June 26th (unless we have personally made other arrangements). We do require that parents check their students in before we leave. Any benevolence funds will be applied by June 23rd; if you have discrepancies, please contact the church office ASAP.

A)  Kid's Camp: All balances will be due online on Sunday, July 16th, (unless we have personally made other arrangements). We do require that parents check their children in before orientation begins. Any benevolence funds will be applied by July 14th; if you have discrepancies, please contact the church office ASAP.

5.    What is the address to the camp and should I send letters?

A)  Both Camps: I would encourage parent letters for the fact that mail call is a big deal and all children love to receive letters. I would encourage you to put "Teen Camp #3/Berean" OR “Kids Camp #1/Berean” on the back of each letter and not to send any past Wednesday.

It is recommended by the camp that parents refrain from visiting or calling children. A call or visit may promote homesickness instead of help.

A)  Teen Camp: We ask that all medication (prescription and OTC) be put in Ziploc-type bag in their original bottles. The bag must include a label with the student's full name, church name, church city, number of medications, and medication times. These bags will be turned in at the check-in desk at the church. When at camp, the medication will be dropped off at the nurse’s office. Students will be responsible for their own money. Although there will be a snack bar and a camp store, large amounts of spending money is not necessary.
